"lead your children down the path of individuality, creativity, & exploration"

Welcome!

let's start with telling you a little bit about mE

I am a PA Certified School Psychologist who graduated from Eastern University in 2012. Throughout my career, I’ve experienced various school settings (i.e. public, Catholic, Waldorf, cyber, charter, and alternative education) as I evaluated students to determine if they were in need of special education services. As an evaluator with a diverse work experience in school psychology, not only can I conduct annual homeschool evaluations, I can also offer all-year consultative services as well as testing services to homeschool families. I am especially available to provide support for homeschool families with children who need special education and behavior support services. Prior to my work as a school psychologist, I grew a passion for working with children with autism and had experience with implementing direct behavioral interventions.
Personally, I’m a homeschool mom to three little ones residing in Berks County, PA. I, first, decided to homeschool my two oldest (who were in K and 1st grade) in the beginning of the school year 2019-2020 because I felt that I could give them more than what public school offers. As I homeschool, I can center their education around their strengths and provide them with opportunities based on their various interests.

MY MISSION

My goal is to support and empower homeschool families, so they, too, believe that they can educate their children, not solely based on state-standards, but based on individual strengths, needs, and interests.

HOW CAN i assist YOUR HOMESCHOOL FAMILY?

end-of-the-year evaluation

Fee: $30 for first student ;  $5 OFF each sibling

What kind of evaluations are available?

I can conduct in-person or virtual evaluations--whatever is more comfortable for your family.

What's in the portfolio? A binder with the following:

• Attendance log of 180 days with start/finish date. If you don't have the finish date yet, that's okay. After the evaluation, send it to me when completed.

• Work Samples – 3 to 4 Work samples of the main subject areas: reading, writing and math (samples should be from beginning, middle, end of the year.)

1 -2 work samples or proof of lessons (pictures, brochures, field trip and project pictures) taught in other subjects covered in your home school. Remember not all subjects have to be covered every year or all year long.

* Be sure to include things that your children are proud of so it will be easy for them to talk about it during the interview.

• Book Log- List book titles read and curriculum used

• Sample of any other personal log that you use such as a planner, notes, or weekly schedule. Just to see what your days look like. It does NOT have to be anything formal or super organized. It's okay if it's not detailed. We will use the interview to also talk about what school looks like for your family.

all-year consultation services

Fee: $125 per family

This option is useful for parents who may need or want support throughout the school year (e.x. first-time homeschool parents, parents with children who have academic and/or behavioral needs). I can help with the following:

  • Review curriculum requirements and assistance with PA Homeschool Law

  • Help with curriculum planning

  • Help with setting up record keeping

  • Assistance with writing objectives

  • Assistance with recommending behavioral interventions

  • Assistance with implementing behavioral interventions

  • Finding academic resources, co-ops, field trips, etc.

  • Recommending teaching strategies

  • Quarterly (or 4 times at any time during the year) in-person or video meeting

educational assessments

Starting from $75
Standardized cognitive and achievement testing are provided upon your request.  I offer PA's required academic testing for grades 3,5, and 8.
Additionally, as a certified school psychologist, I am also able to offer cognitive testing (commonly known as IQ testing) for parents who would like a better understanding of their child's cognitive strengths and weaknesses. These assessments are conducted in-person, and written summaries of results will be provided.
Do you suspect that your child has an educational disability? Ask about having a full psycho-educational evaluation for your child. A psycho-educational evaluation includes cognitive , academic, behavioral, social/emotional, etc, assessments to determine if a child is a student with an educational disability under IDEA and PA's Chapter 13 Special Educational Law.
